Objectives: The registry is a vital tool for understanding genetic fields and therapeutic strategies for treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. It is valuable in research on long-term effectiveness of drugs on patients.this study aimed to explain the challenges of rheumatoid arthritis registry in Iran.
Materials and Methods: This was qualitative content analysis research. Using purposive sampling method, ten rheumatologists were selected as sample. The semi-structured interviews were conducted to saturation level to collect the data. The content analysis was conducted to collect data, name data, and obtain analytic categories and subcategories.
Results: Challenges were classified in five main variables including Physical (including software and hard ware), Financial including (financing), Human including (skilled personnel for RA data entry and tendency of more specialists to carry out medical treatment),Managerial including (lackof referral system and Support of Ministry of Health), Time including (lake of time for allocating time to health and education). Lack of proper infrastructure, financiallimitations and management challenges were among the most important barriers.
Conclusion: The findings showed that the rheumatoid arthritis registry in Iran faces many challenges. In the case of eliminating existing obstacles, it would be possible to take advantage of effective and useful outcomes in basic care of patients with rheumatoid arthritis.
